A Little Ray of Sunshine: About Me

As the sign above says - Welcome! Thank you for taking time out of your day to visit and I hope you enjoy watching my blog and my ideas grow with me!
Why 'a little ray of sunshine' ? Well, I lost my job in January and was sitting in my room in London and thinking what I should do next...you know, when you get to a point and you aren't quite sure how you feel about your situation? It was a miserable grey day and the weather always drags the mood down...but then! A little bright ray of sunshine peeked it's way through my curtains and onto my jewellery sitting on my old dresser (yes, really!) and *BING* (that's the moment when the lightbulb above your head appears and you realise you could definitely be onto something) - I had the idea!!
So all in a moment, I decided I was going to make jewellery and make others happy with pretty things made carefully by me and I also had a name for my idea too - easy?!

Well not too easy! I started budgeting myself (bank of Amy definitely wasn't super happy after losing my job) and so spent careful pennies on things that I found cute and pretty and gradually the packages started arriving - exciting! I would like to apologise to my postman and to my lovely housemates for the volume of packages and if I have injured any of you in the process, please forgive me :-)
So, my adventure starts here! I am of course still looking for a job (I'm a wedding planner full time), but whilst I am looking I am sticking, sewing, cutting and various other crafty movements to make beautiful things for all of you lovely people out there!

Another string to my bow involves my photography and jewellery making at children's parties... I will have a page (currently in progress) that will have a bit more information and prices too. My idea - I come to your house, bringing along with me a selection of lovely jewellery items (that either you or I have pre-selected for your little ones) and I sit with your gorgeous children and entertain them with glitter, jewels etc that I can stick and glue to make perfect princess party bags gifts!! I can also sell in bulk for your party bags in advance of your party too (see my homepage for more information) and lastly...photos...either as part of the jewellery making package or completely seperate - I can come along with my camera and keep your children entertained for hours! Takes the pressure off you and means I can capture them in whatever way they choose - perhaps a fashion show, make up party, fancy dress, animal themed, princess party...whatever it may be - you/they choose and I photograph!

I also do commission pieces - if you have seen something that has given you an idea or perhaps something you have always wanted - lego cufflinks or cherry earrings - I would be more than happy to search, create and sell to you!

So, that gives you a little idea of what I am up to..I really hope you have read this far down the page because I want to thank you for your support, care and of course your business too!
I especially want to thank my amazing friends, family and fantastic boyfriend Tom for all their love, care and support! Tom and my amazing housemates have put up with me being covered in bits of fabric, glue, beads and indeed the majority of the house too! They have had to put up with me talking about this to them for weeks and for that, I'm sorry and I'm greatful! Love you all! (I'm sorry that I haven't got room for photos of all my wonderful friends!)
